Role: Strategy and Investment Consultant
Seniority: Senior Consultant to Director/Partner
Day rate: £400-£1000/day (Outside IR35)
Project durations: 2-6 weeks
Location: London/Hybrid)
We are partnered with a 50-60 FTE strategy, operations, and sustainability consultancy that is looking to onboard a handful of freelance consultants for commercial due diligence and investment advisory projects from February to May. The broad focus is on products and services related to energy transition.

Tasks

  • Specific tasks will be shared closer to the interview stage
  • Market & Regulatory Assessment – Analyse industry trends, policy incentives, and regulatory risks impacting the energy transition sector
  • Competitive Positioning – Evaluate the target’s market share, unique value proposition, and differentiation from competitors
  • Commercial & Revenue Analysis – Assess revenue streams, pricing models, customer base, and future growth potential
  • Operational & Cost Review – Examine supply chain dependencies, technology readiness, and cost structures
  • Risk & Investment Feasibility – Identify commercial risks, scalability challenges, and alignment with investor objectives

Requirements

  • An currently active independent consultant
  • Strategy or Operations consulting background at a tier 1, tier 2, Big 4, or specialist boutique. Alternatively, a transactions background in Private Equity (PE) or Investment Banking (IB)
  • Experience working on assets related to sustainability or energy transition topics
  • Comfortable with a hybrid setup from their London HQ
