The opportunityAs a Strategy and Transactions Senior/Assistant Manager (m/f) in Transaction Diligence you'll be engaged in numerous transaction support services including the buy side due diligences, vendor due diligence, asset quality review, restructuring as well as independent business review projects. Our core work is during the exciting and high speed financial due diligence phase of an M&A process. Using data and analytics in due diligence to assess the target company’s financial performance and business projections, we can identify opportunities and risks that will have an impact on the final value of the asset. We have to clearly communicate our findings to our clients, their banks and their investors. As a Senior/Assistant Manager, you will be working with experienced due diligence professionals, where you will learn and develop the skills you need to perform due diligence in a range of situations and sectors. As you progress your career with EY, you will have the opportunity to work on more complex transactions, increasingly lead teams, begin to build relationships with our clients and other members of the corporate finance community and take on broader roles within our business.Your key responsibilities• Plan and monitor the progress of due diligence fieldwork and inform Managers of the engagement status• Identify specific transaction risks through historical analyses and direct discussions with Target company’s management• Prepare detailed due diligence reports and databooks (excel) for clients, clearly communicating key findings, risks, and recommendations.• Prepare analyses of historical and pro forma financial information to assess trends and fluctuations that may impact cash flow requirements and deal valuation• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial data and documentation• Conduct in-depth industry research to support due diligence efforts, including market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and identification of potential risks and opportunities.• Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality work and professional development.• Share your technical and other knowledge with your team• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel• Contribute to business development efforts by preparing proposals, pitch materials, and client presentations Skills and attributes for success • Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Analysis or Business Planning/Financial mathematics• 3-5 years of experience in the field of transaction support (preparation of due diligences), accounting, banking or mergers & acquisitions (Big4 experience is considered an advantage)• Professional accounting designation i.e. ACCA, CFA is considered an advantage • Familiar with advanced concepts of accounting including IFRS• Ability to analyze financial and non-financial information to formulate views and conclusions.• Strong analytical and critical thinking• Diligent approach and dedication to all assigned tasks• Excellent project and time-management skills• Excellent presentation skills and experience with data visualization/presentation• Ability to lead small teams and coach and develop junior team members• Strong work initiative and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Croatian and English • Excellent MS Excel knowledge What we offer you• Continuous learning: You’ll develop the mindset and skills to navigate whatever comes next.• Success as defined by you: We’ll provide the tools and flexibility, so you can make a meaningful impact, your way.• Transformative leadership: We’ll give you the insights, coaching and confidence to be the leader the world needs.• Diverse and inclusive culture: You’ll be embraced for who you are and empowered to use your voice to help others find theirs.
