JOB PURPOSE Assist in scanning the organization’s external environment for emerging trends, and assessing identified/recommended potential growth opportunities. Description 1. Prepare relevant periodic research reports and gather all relevant information required for scanning the organization’s external environment for emerging trends in order to assist the Senior officer to identify/recommend potential alternative growth opportunities. 2. Assist in preparing initial drafts that support the formulation of the 5-year strategy document as well as draft write- ups for board memos and presentation in relation to strategic initiatives & projects. 3. Assist in preparing a draft 5-year strategy document, in collaboration with bank-wide business and support areas, and handle relevant communication to integrate their feedback. This exercise will result in setting the bank’s vision and mission statements, financial and non-financial objectives for the medium term. 4. Assist in preparing the business case document for alternative growth opportunities, including: M&As, JVs, strategic partnerships/ alliances and the introduction of new segments with proposed business model and establishing subsidiaries. 5. Assist in drafting alternative growth projects’ plan and monitor progress to support timely & effective execution, aside from drafting required documents, while handling relevant communications with relevant stakeholders and monitoring project budget. Follow all relevant department policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner Day-to-day management 7. Follow the day-to-day operations related to own jobs in the department to ensure continuity of work Compliance 8. Comply with all relevant CBE regulations, banking laws, AML regulations and internal CIB policies and code of conduct in order to maintain CIB’s sound legal position and mitigate any potential risks Qualifications & Experience  Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics or its equivalent.  Fresh graduate or min. 1-year work experience in the financial sector  Good understanding of how the Financial Services industry operates (e.g. products, players, business models, operating models)  Awareness of global banking trends and prevailing investment themes and challenges  Familiarity with recognized Strategy frameworks and techniques; experience of research, quantitative analysis, structured problem solving and executive communication techniques  Credit certified or alternative certification (i.e. CFA level 1, investment certificates such as CAIA, etc….)  Highly developed analytical skills including data aggregation, statistical analysis and modelling Skills  Sharp qualitative and quantitative analytical skills  Self-motivated and goal-driven  Can perform very well under pressure  Ability to multi-task  Excellent command of English and Arabic. A third language is a plus  Excellent soft skills, including: communication, presentation, writing and research skills  Excellent command of Microsoft Office
