This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Stream Restoration Engineer/Designer in the United States. This role involves leading the design and implementation of stream and ecological restoration projects across diverse environmental settings. You will provide technical expertise, manage complex project tasks, and guide project teams to deliver high-quality, compliant solutions. The position requires working with regulatory agencies, reviewing technical documentation, and supporting remedial applications. You will also mentor junior engineers, contribute to client proposals, and ensure continuous improvement of restoration practices. The role allows for remote work, with a preference for candidates in the greater Baltimore, MD, or Richmond, VA areas, and provides opportunities to apply advanced engineering knowledge in a collaborative and impactful environment. Strong project management, leadership, and analytical skills are essential for success. \n Accountabilities Provide final technical review and approval of project documents, design plans, and remedial applications. Serve as a technical resource and expert advisor for complex stream restoration and ecological restoration projects. Manage regulatory and contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Mentor and train junior engineers in technical and regulatory processes. Participate in client presentations, proposal development, and technical discussions to support business growth. Identify and implement continuous technical improvement initiatives and best practices. Attend professional development training to maintain and enhance technical expertise and certifications. Perform other duties as assigned to support project and organizational objectives. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related environmental discipline; Master’s degree preferred. 5–10+ years of project-related environmental engineering experience; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Strong expertise in stream restoration design, ecological restoration, project management, and site characterization. Experience with Rosgen Level I-IV stream classification and related design plans/submittals. Proficiency in computer-based data analysis and design tools. Excellent technical writing, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Leadership experience with the ability to interact effectively with senior client management. Ability to prioritize and integrate multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to continuous professional development and maintenance of applicable licenses or certifications.
