Description
Salary Range: $72,907.95 - $107,539.22 Works under the direction of the Administrator of Street Maintenance. Plans and directs the maintenance of City streets, including paving and street repairs such as cut and patch, asphalt plant operation, emergency tree removal and snow and ice treatment for City streets. Trains, directs, and evaluates the performance of maintenance personnel in adherence to following proper street maintenance procedures. Develops and implements street maintenance procedures. Inspects streets for needed repairs. Reviews and analyzes reports and records. Confers with supervisory personnel to obtain data required for planning street maintenance activities and to address future needs. Gives work direction to clerical personnel in dispatching, bookkeeping, recordkeeping, and payroll. Resolves problems such as disgruntled property owners and sets deadlines necessary to meet work objectives. Evaluates and researches new developments in materials, tools, and equipment to recommend or deny purchase. Coordinates street maintenance activities with other inter-related activities of City Service Centers and other government agencies to insure optimum efficiency. Prepares various reports for management. Prepares and monitors department budget, bid specifications, and contracts necessary to requisition materials, tools, and equipment. Travels to various work sites to inspect and evaluate work requirements. Interacts and communicates verbally and in writing with government agencies, vendors, management, staff, and the general public on a variety of issues and concerns.
