As a Seasonal Streets Maintenance Worker, you’ll help keep our community moving safely and smoothly. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys physical work, teamwork, and being outside rather than behind a desk. In this position, you’ll assist full-time Streets staff with a variety of projects that keep our roads, sidewalks, and public spaces in top shape. Duties may include asphalt and concrete repair, street and alley maintenance, patching potholes, installing and maintaining signage, mowing and trimming right-of-ways, and general upkeep of City infrastructure. You’ll use a variety of tools and equipment, learn practical skills, and gain real-world experience working alongside skilled municipal professionals. Work is performed outdoors in all types of weather and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on operational needs. Every day is different—and every day makes a visible impact on the community. Requirements We’re looking for motivated individuals who are ready to work hard, learn new skills, and take pride in contributing to their community. To be successful in this role, you should: Be 18 years of age or older Enjoy physical, hands-on work and being outdoors in varying weather conditions Have the ability to perform manual labor such as lifting, digging, shoveling, raking, and mowing for extended periods Be dependable, safety-minded, and willing to follow instructions and procedures Be able to work both independently and as part of a team Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and the public in a respectful manner Helpful skills (we’ll help you build these too): Basic knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in street maintenance or construction Willingness to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and City equipment Awareness of workplace safety practices and first aid principles Special Requirements: Valid state driver’s license required This position is ideal for individuals seeking seasonal employment, students home for the summer, or anyone interested in learning more about skilled trades or public service careers.
