JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Stress and Lifing Engineer
Working Pattern: Full time
Working location: Indianapolis, IN/Hybrid - 3 Office Days/Week)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of experience, OR
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, OR
  • PhD in Engineering
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have 2 or more years of hands-on experience in conducting mechanical integrity, stress and lifing assessments using finite element analysis and other numerical models
  • Ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parameters
  • Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and certification frameworks
  • Membership of a relevant professional body appropriate to region
  • Good communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization
Responsibilities
  • Conduct mechanical integrity, stress and lifing assessments using finite element analysis and other numerical models
  • Specify and conduct mechanical experiments, for the purpose of underwriting designs, and validating analytical or empirical models
  • Identify root cause and resolve problems through evaluative judgements and analysis
  • Point of contact between the mechanical integrity discipline and other functions and customers
  • Point of contact within a given engineering discipline and to share subject matter knowledge across the function
  • Promote, encourage and support the identification and implementation of continuous improvements of tools, processes and methods) both within and outside their immediate sphere and prompt action across the wider team
