Description

Are you an experienced machine operator looking for your next opportunity in Brampton, Ontario? Our client, a well-established manufacturer in the extrusion industry, is looking to hire a Stretcher Operator to join their production team. This role is critical to ensuring products meet customer specifications and quality standards.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Stretcher Operator, you will be responsible for managing the stretcher controls to ensure extruded products are correctly stretched and meet all dimensional and quality requirements. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, mechanical understanding, and a strong safety mindset.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a machine operator
  • Prior experience in heavy manufacturing preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in loud, hot environments
  • Comfortable working 12-hour rotating shifts, with overtime as needed

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong English communication skills (reading and writing)
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform quality checks
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Responsibilities
  • Operate stretcher controls to ensure correct settings for each production run
  • Understand how different settings affect various materials during the stretching process
  • Prepare extruded materials for stretching
  • Identify and report defects such as bowing or improper stretching
  • Use measuring tools such as squares and calipers for quality checks
  • Assist with packing and other line duties as needed
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace
  • Follow all safety regulations and company policies
