Boeing Global Services (BGS) – Structures Stress Team is seeking a broad range of experience levels including an Experienced and Lead Level Structural Analysis Engineer with adept knowledge of stress analysis methods, engineering principles, certification, and collaboration skills. This position will report to the Long Beach, CA Design Center.
This requisition is hiring for primary and secondary structures stress for airplane production & airplane post-production modifications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of science from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or chemistry or other technical degree.
  • 5+ years of experience with Stress Analysis/Structural Analysis.
  • 3+ years of experience with classical hand analysis and FEA software experience.
  • Experience with Boeing tools, processes, and procedures.
  • Experience with Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Analysis.
  • Willing & able to travel up to 10% of the time domestically and internationally.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 9+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education.
  • 2+ years leading and mentoring structural analyst team members while engaging with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • 2+ years engaged in 787 primary structural analysis.

EXPERIENCED (LEVEL 3)

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 year’s related work experience, 5 years’ related work experience, etc.).
Responsibilities
  • Performing detailed structural analysis to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools. This analysis can support production, responses to customer inquiries, service bulletin development, failure investigation, regulatory agency coordination and show compliance to regulatory requirements.
  • Providing guidance on structural design and configuration development.
  • Create trade studies to optimize the structure and meet program requirements.
  • Work with the team to integrate component-level structural models and perform integrated analysis, using finite element methods, to develop internal loads and stresses to verify structural integrity with minimal instruction.
  • Document structural analyses and data required to show compliance with Boeing, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the resolution of technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer (internal and external).
  • The ability to support regular and emergent domestic or international travel to support our customers.
  • Ability to work on-site 5 days per week.
  • May be asked to support other programs as needed.
