Description Job Summary As the Lead Structural Assembler, you will oversee and participate in the assembly of large, complex structural systems using both hand and power tools. This role combines advanced technical skill with leadership responsibilities, ensuring that assemblies meet strict quality, safety, and production standards. You will guide a team of assemblers, interpret detailed technical documentation, coordinate workflow, and serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting assembly issues. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to mentor others, and a commitment to maintaining a high-performance production environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Coordination Lead daily activities of the structural assembly team, ensuring tasks are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. Train, mentor, and support assemblers in proper techniques, tool usage, and quality standards. Assign work based on skill level, production priorities, and project timelines. Serve as the primary liaison between assembly staff, supervisors, engineering, and quality teams. Technical Assembly Interpret and verify manuals, drawings, schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents for complex assemblies. Measure, align, and fit components with precision to meet exact specifications. Select, modify, and prepare components and materials required for assembly. Assemble structural units using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment. Conduct in-process inspections and final quality checks to ensure assemblies meet all standards. Quality & Process Improvement Identify, document, and escalate assembly issues, nonconformities, or design discrepancies. Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality. Maintain accurate production records, including quantities, timelines, and any deviations. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and equipment handling. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift. Regularly lift up to 50 lbs. independently; team lift required for anything above 50 lbs. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
