JOB DESCRIPTION

AECOM is currently seeking a talented Structural Bridge Engineer / Inspector to support our bridge inspection practice in our Conshohocken, PA office . This position will involve a combination of remote work, office presence and field work, performing bridge load rating analysis and hands-on inspection of bridge structures throughout the region. AECOM often wins contracts to inspect and analyze some of the most complex and interesting long-span bridges in the area, although we also inspect vast numbers of less complex bridges. This important role offers participation in a variety of challenging projects and a dynamic work environment due to the number, type and size of bridges that make up the vast portfolio of the experienced bridge group this engineer will be joining.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • BA/BS in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering plus 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • NBIS Certified Bridge Inspector Credentials
  • Experience using MS Office, AASHTOWare and finite element modeling software
  • Valid US Driver’s License is required for this position. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous relevant USACE experience
  • PE License preferred
Responsibilities
  • Load rating analysis tasks will include the use of commercial bridge analysis software, as well as occasional finite element modeling.
  • Inspection tasks will include hands-on field observation of a variety of structural systems and documentation of defects.
  • Structural analysis of bridges.
  • Working in the field performing hands-on bridge safety inspections
  • Field inspection work.
  • Significant amount of office responsibilities which include developing load rating calculations and models, field inspection reports, bridge repair recommendations and repair schemes, and cost estimates.
