SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Should possess strong technical skills in bridge/structural design of steel, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and timber bridges or other structures
  • Experience developing design reports, plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and commitment to learning
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Training and mentoring skills
  • Effective and comfortable in a highly collaborative team environment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred)
  • Minimum of 3-5+ years of professional structural/transportation/bridge design experience
  • EIT required.
  • PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months preferred.
  • Successful completion of NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges training a plus
  • Familiarity with structural modeling/engineering software is a plus
  • Bentley MicroStation, Open Bridge and Open Roads, and ESRI GIS software experience a plus
    The estimated hiring salary range for this position is $74,000-$100,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Perform structural modeling and design of highway, pedestrian and railroad bridges and other structures
  • Create plans and digital models of the bridges and highway bridge approaches
  • Perform bridge inspections
  • Develop construction cost estimates
  • Prepare contract documents
  • Review fabrication drawings and provide construction plan reviews
