About the role We're looking for an engineer (or graduate engineer) with strong technical knowledge and a practical interest in structural and civil design. You'll review architectural drawings, assist with structural design, manage procurement of steel components, and support the running of both minor and major projects across carpentry, civil works, and steel fabrication. What sets this apart You'll bring technical knowledge to our design, fabrication, construction, and administration teams. You'll work directly on real projects with genuine technical responsibility—engaging in drawing review, design assistance, supplier coordination, and administrative support. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and skilled teams on complex structural problems and see your decisions implemented on-site. Key responsibilities Review architectural drawings and coordinate with design teams Assist with structural design for carpentry, civil works, and steel fabrication projects Procure steel components and coordinate with suppliers Support major structural projects from design through to delivery Work closely with design, fabrication, construction, and administration teams Liaise with architects, builders, and clients on technical matters Contribute to design development and problem-solving on-site Prepare documentation and coordinate with relevant authorities What we're looking for Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) Strong technical knowledge of structural principles and design practices Interest in cross-disciplinary problem-solving—structural, civil, and mechanical systems Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings Practical hands-on approach with willingness to work on-site Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with trades and clients About Fennec Fennec Services is a young but growing Queensland-based construction company specialising in carpentry, civil works, structural steel fabrication, modular housing installation, and labour hire.
