WHAT YOU WILL DO:

GFT is seeking a Structural Design Engineer/ Inspector, to join our Construction Services Group in Toronto, ON. This role follows a on site model, requiring full attendance at our client worksite.

WHAT YOU’LL BE CHALLENGED TO DO:

As a Structural Design Engineer/ Inspector you will lead inspections and oversee construction activities, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards while effectively communicating with project teams and stakeholders. This role will enable you to take on new challenges and expand your career in construction management, focusing on the successful delivery of transportation projects in the GTHA.

IN THIS CAPACITY, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING:

• Establishing a safety-first culture for all construction projects.
• Inspecting work materials and methods to ensure compliance with contract documents, maintaining quality and safety.
• Documenting construction activity, including environmental events and progress, for project closeout.
• Issuing and following up on contract deficiency reports and required corrective actions.
• Assisting in resolving construction-related issues and enhancing processes.
• Carrying out all quality assurance and quality control functions and coordinating inspections.
• Leading small projects in managing, implementing, and tracking change notices for as-constructed drawings.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to solve complex problems and report on contract compliance.
• Reviewing the quality of contractors’ work and preparing reports for clients.
• Engaging in professional growth opportunities, leadership training, and preparation for future leadership roles.
