WHAT YOUR BRING

Education Requirements:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited University, a Master’s degree is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

• 0 - 4 years of experience in structural design of large multifamily residential, hotel/hospitality, and/or parking.

• A professional license in structural or civil engineering, or the ability to obtain licensure within 3 years, is required.

• Solid knowledge of structural engineering.
• Strong computer, writing, communication, and team skills are necessary.

Coursework:

• Prestressed Concrete Structures, Concrete Design, and Structural Steel Design

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience in the design and construction of pre-cast, post-tensioned, and reinforced concrete structures is desired.

At Walker Consultants, we are committed to maintaining fairness and equity in our pay practices. For this role, the estimated base salary range is $70,000 – $95,000 per year. The final salary offered may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. HOW YOUR ROLE WILL SHAPE OUR SUCCESS

As a Structural Engineer at Walker Consultants, you will design some of the largest structures in the world, including resort, casino, and airport parking structures. Parking structures are similar to both bridges and buildings and require skill in both structural design and materials science due to aesthetics, long spans, thermal movements, and durability challenges. These structures endure the elements with every framing member exposed to public view. Not only will you design the structure’s framing system, but you will participate in its layout and aesthetic appearance, interacting directly with clients and other subconsultants.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Perform structural modeling, analysis, and design for gravity and lateral design of structures, including concrete, masonry, and steel members.
• Produce construction documents for new design and restoration projects.
• Perform site visits to observe construction.
• Assist with restoration projects for existing structures.
