2. DRAWINGS AND DOCUMENTATION

• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Review and approve shop drawings submitted by contractors.
• Coordinate with drafting teams to ensure accuracy in design drawings.
• Maintain design documentation and ensure timely submission to authorities/clients.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEER1. DESIGN AND ANALYSIS

• Prepare structural designs for buildings, bridges, industrial facilities, and other structures in compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, BS, Eurocode).
• Perform structural analysis (manual and software-based) to ensure safety, serviceability, and cost efficiency.
• Select appropriate construction materials (concrete, steel, timber, etc.) based on project requirements.
• Develop innovative design solutions while maintaining sustainability and cost-effectiveness.

6. PROJECT AND TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES

• Estimate structural material quantities and provide inputs for cost estimation.
• Support project planning by providing realistic design schedules.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and drafters.
• Contribute to value engineering and design optimization.
