Job Description Job Description AECOM Buildings + Places sector is seeking a Structural Technician for immediate employment for the Kitchener, ON office with opportunities for hybrid work. Major Responsibilities: Conduct structural drafting / 3D BIM for concrete, steel, and wood buildings Prepares finished design drawings from sketches, notes, and details Support structural analysis of buildings and structures with little guidance Supporting the preparation of the specifications and maintaining project documentation including quality review documentation. Supporting packages preparation and submission Monitor and track construction progress and conformity with AECOM design and contract conformance General understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines Self-checks drawings for quality assurance Support with field inspection and construction administration Works in team-based environment that involves coordination with colleagues in different disciplines and offices Performs the responsibilities under limited supervision Work both in office and field settings Qualifications Minimum Requirements: In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum: College diploma in Engineering Technology + four (4) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Proficient in 3D Revit/BIM drafting Good written and oral communication skills Holding or the ability to obtain Secret Level security clearance Preferred Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering is an asset EIT, C. Tech or CET designation, or working towards certification Able to develop and advance drawings from conceptual to detailed design stage with little instruction Ability to recognize and adhere to established deadlines and schedules is a must Familiar with software such as: AutoCAD 2015 or later, Autodesk Revit Family/BIM Software and MicroStation V.8 or later Familiar with Ontario building code Ability to fit into a fast-paced team environment and/or work independently Self-motivated, detail oriented and multi-tasking Additional Information Relocation is not available for this position Sponsorship is not available for this position About AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
