QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in Drafting, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience in a similar role.
  • Strong skills in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and Australian Standards.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and manage multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with BIM workflows and model coordination is desirable.

Join KBR’s passionate and experienced Structural team as a Structural Designer and Drafter in our Perth office. You will play a key role alongside engineering specialists on a variety of projects across the Transport, Maritime, Water, Defence, and Energy sectors, both locally and nationally.
Reporting to the Design Team Lead, you will collaborate closely with structural engineers to deliver high quality models, technical drawings, and construction documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage drafting tasks of large-scale projects independently.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior drafters within the project team.
  • Prepare detailed structural models and design drawings.
  • Collaborate with engineers, consultants, clients, and internal teams to deliver accurate, high-quality models and documentation.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of interdisciplinary coordination in structural design.
  • Accurately translate structural concepts into clear drawings that builders can easily follow
  • Support structural engineers with preliminary sketch designs and drafting input.
  • Provide technical support and training to junior team members in Revit and other tools.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of drafting systems and workflows.
