SSOE is currently seeking a Structural Designer to join our Facilities structural engineering team. Qualified candidates have experience working on industrial building projects, particularly within the Manufacturing and Automotive industries. Experience with Data centers and pharmaceutical projects is also beneficial. Candidates must have significant experience with Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks. Responsibilities The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing: Support global teams as a structural designer on selected projects. Model and draft complex steel and concrete structures including 2D elements and 3D models according to customer requirements (including BIM LOD requirements) and standard practices for construction documents. Collect information from all available sources to prepare accurate and complete 3D models and drawings. Verify dimension correctness and/or identify any interference between various elements. Provide technical support including teaching methods and procedures to less experienced Designers. May be required to visit the project site to verify existing field conditions and provide on-site support. Analyzes sketches, notes, and other input materials to determine and plan the best approach to prepare drawings. May travel to other SSOE facilities for coordination purposes and/or provide training. Qualifications What You Will Bring: Diploma in Civil Engineering. Diploma or bachelor’s degree tracked in CAD/BIM Design Technology or related field preferred. Possess minimum 8 years of experience as a Designer or in modeling and drafting steel and concrete structures of significant complexity utilizing both AutoCAD and Revit Structure software. Strong English communication skills with the ability to coordinate with the global teams and facilitate a professional relationship. Good working knowledge of Model Building Codes as well as AISC & ACI Material Codes and other referenced standards. Ability to fully utilize and leverage CAD/BIM software including AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, MicroStation, and Navisworks is essential. Knowledge of having interoperability between two or more software is preferred. For example, Revit to Risa and vice versa etc. Should be flexible to work in the evening hours to maintain the communication with the USA teams. Must demonstrate some working knowledge of industrial and commercial buildings and ability to execute related designs. Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
