For decades, our experts have delivered economic studies, project management, detailed engineering, procurement, site management, commissioning, programming, and full EPCM execution across a wide range of heavy industrial environments.   Whether it’s supporting industrial facility upgrades, contributing to safe energy infrastructure, or bringing clarity to complex structural systems, your work will help clients move forward with confidence. Based in Thornhill or Mississauga, you’ll join a collaborative team working on heavy industrial and mining projects across the Greater Toronto/Hamilton area and the Golden Horseshoe. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- YOUR IMPACT * You'll be applying your modelling and design knowledge on project work from conceptual design through to completion, producing models and drawings for planning and construction; * You will look after technical quality, visualization, cost effectiveness and you’ll be fostering and developing client relationships and enhancing your client management skills; * You’ll have opportunities to attend sites and see in real-time work taking place, and be able to review and verify construction progress as it happens; * You’ll do material quantity takeoff for steel structures, foundations, excavation and earthworks; * You’ll work in CAD and REVIT regularly to develop drawings including those for foundations, structures in steel, masonry and concrete; * You’ll prepare structural steel 3D models and 2D drawings for industrial buildings, pipe racks, tank foundations and containments, rail track platforms, equipment platforms, etc.; * Working closely as part of the design team, your input will be valued and relied upon; * As part of a large multi-discipline team, you’ll be working across other business lines and with colleagues in other departments for collaboration and smooth project execution; * As a client-facing designer, you’ll attend various client sites and conduct field reviews, gather information, and take measurements; -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE SKILLS THAT SET YOU APART * College diploma in civil engineering technology, structural engineering or equivalent; * 5+ years of relevant experience in structural drafting, specifically in Heavy Industrial and/or Mining projects desired; * Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT programs; * Demonstrated experience with 2D and 3D modelling; * Strong understanding of steel and concrete foundations; * Experience within a large project and multi-disciplinary EPCM environment; * An understanding of and experience with Ontario and National Building Codes and relevant standards;   -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHY CHOOSE WSP?
