The Structural Drafter will play a key role in supporting the production drawing releases for our aquatic structures. This position involves creating precise and detailed 2D/3D drawings to facilitate production, and site installations. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical drafting skills with proficiency in key tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD to produce accurate deliverables on schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of experience in drafting or design for mechanical/structural components within a manufacturing or production environment
  • College degree or technical equivalent for CAD Design, or a related field
  • Excellent knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Communication skills in both English and French (Beginner level of English is required).
  • Familiarity with drafting standards, Piping, Sheet Metal and modular assemblies.
  • Familiarity with file management systems like SolidWorks PDM
  • Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Ability to interpret and produce mechanical, structural, and assembly drawings.
  • General understanding of Manufacturing process for metal products (Welding Bending and Laser Cutting)
  • Problem-solving mindset to address design and drafting challenges efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail to produce accurate and clean drawings.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers across multiple departments.
  • Clear communication skills to document changes, resolve ambiguities, share updates and most importantly ask questions.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.
  • Openness to adopting new drafting tools, standards, and technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed 2D/3D production and layout drawings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Designers, Structural engineers, and P&E teams, to ensure accurate interpretations of project specifications.
  • Update drawings to reflect revisions based on engineering evaluations, or manufacturing changes or General improvements
  • Maintain drawing standards, templates, and libraries to improve drafting efficiency.
  • Conduct self-checks and ISO reviews to ensure accuracy, adherence to standards, and quality of outputs.
  • Support the integration and use of inhouse tools like Vortex Checker and other automation tools to push drafting efficiency and quality.
  • Track multiple project and deliverables to ensure on-time completion of production packages, and installation drawings.
