Salary: £32,000 - £40,000, dependent on experience
Location: Durham, with hybrid working
Contract: Permanent, full-time

We are growing our team in our new Durham office and there is an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our multi-discipline workforce.
Your knowledge and expertise will enable you to produce practicable, cost-effective, and sufficient structural and foundation designs appropriate to RIBA staged delivery, covering all phases from briefing and concept stages through to detailed technical design. The role also involves providing construction stage support by responding to RFIs and TQs, reviewing fabricator’s designs and detailed drawings, and conducting site visits to resolve any emerging structural issues.

AS A STRUCTURAL ENGINEER, YOU WILL

  • Hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent) with post-qualification experience working within an engineering design consultancy.
  • Be experienced in Structural Design of Concrete, Steel, Masonry and Timber Structures, using current UK Standards and Eurocodes.
  • Be capable in the use of Structural Analysis and Modelling Packages, e.g., Tekla Structural Designer (TSD) software or similar.
  • Experience design spreadsheets, e.g., Excel and TEDDS, and knowledge of detailing packages, e.g., AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Specify construction information using NBS.
  • Complete structural calculations, condition surveys and reports to tight deadlines.
  • Have experience in RIBA staged project delivery and maintaining budget.
  • Define and develop a client’s brief.
  • Ensure design comply with health and safety regulations and sustainability principles.
  • Hold a full UK drivers license, with access to a vehicle.
