Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity We are for looking for an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our team in Tauranga. Overall, you can expect to: Apply principles and professional knowledge and judgement to plan and implement projects of reasonable complexity Provide technical design advice for structures and multi-disciplinary projects of reasonable complexity Gain experience in work planning and financial management for local, national, and international projects Build and foster internal and external relationships that lead to repeat work Demonstrate effective communication, presentation, networking, and consulting skills Be passionate about learning and seek feedback to ensure professional and technical career development. This role is based in our Tauranga office but requires regular travel each week to a client site near Tokoroa (Waikato) – this is just over an hours' drive away. Our client is at the heart of New Zealand’s forestry, timber and paper industry. Aligned with the level of the role, we envision that the base salary component will be between NZ$68,000.00 – $102,000.00, depending on skills and experience. The role is full time and permanent, with minimum guaranteed hours of 40 hours a week. Ko wai koe | About you You are someone who is interested in building on your timber design skills. From residential to commercial timber, we have complex projects that need passionate people to deliver. To be successful in this role you will have: A Qualification in civil engineering, structural engineering or related field. A minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering consultancy. A passion for design and problem-solving. Experience with building/civil structures and multidisciplinary projects (preferred). Enquiring mind, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to think laterally. Enthusiasm and motivation to learn from colleagues.
