Description

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Structural Engineer opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN at the Y-12 National Security Complex.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Provide CNS, Mission Engineering with full time Structural design engineering support for facility and production area activities in Cat 2, 3/Non-Nuclear and Balance of Plant facilities and Backbone Infrastructure Utilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
  • 5 to 20+ years of experience.
  • Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with and experience in developing designs in accordance with ASME Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1), and a variety of CSA related issues relative to non-reactor nuclear facilities, natural phenomena events, structural rehabilitation, and building evaluations.
  • Must be familiar with consensus design codes.
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.
  • Must be willing to work in a production environment.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.
  • Must be US citizen.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in an NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable.
  • An active DOE Q clearance.
