Guy Architects & Engineers has an opening for a new Civil/Structural Engineer to join our engineering team, working in our Yellowknife office.
The team focuses largely on the design of residential and commercial buildings and assists clients on projects from concept to completion.
This is a fantastic opportunity to use your structural engineering experience and further develop your career by joining a dynamic team that takes on challenging projects. The selected candidate will work closely with the other engineers and Architectural team members and should excel at working in a fast-paced, adaptive, and innovative environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduated from a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
  • Be registered as a P.Eng. in one of the Canadian Jurisdictions for at least 2 years and be able to stamp the engineering documents. (NAPEG Preferred)
  • Have 10+ years of experience in Structural Engineering.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings.
  • Design & plan structural steel fabrications
  • Plan & design buildings
  • Conduct site visits to gather relevant information
  • Confer with clients & other members of the engineering team & conduct research
  • Develop construction specifications & procedures
  • Ensure construction plans meet guidelines & specifications of building codes & other regulations
  • Establish & monitor construction work schedules
  • Evaluate & recommend appropriate building & construction materials
  • Prepare contract documents & review & evaluate tenders for construction projects
  • Provide customer service
  • Supervise technicians, technologists & other engineers & review & approve designs & calculations
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, including executives
  • Strong problem identification and problem-resolution skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • High level of sound and independent judgement and reasoning
  • Knowledge of NBC Code and CSA standards
  • Knowledge of Structural Engineering Software such as Etabs, SAP2000, SAFE, Autodesk REVIT, and MS Office.

    Pay: $90,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
