REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • The ability to support multiple efforts and manage competing priorities.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • A Master of Science Degree in a structures related field.
  • Coursework completion in dynamics, vibrations, advanced strength of materials, aerospace structures, composites, finite element analysis, random vibration and other structures related courses.
  • Previous experience in structural analysis of aerospace-related hardware or ground support equipment including stress analysis and structural dynamics
Responsibilities
  • Perform structural analysis on spacecraft, instruments, payloads, optics, mechanisms, and ground support equipment.
  • Use closed form and finite element analysis techniques in stress analysis and structural dynamics.
  • Develop loads and environments for structure and components.
  • Support structural and environmental testing for static, modal, acoustic, shock, and vibration.
  • Write detailed reports for test and analysis activities.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
