OVERVIEW
Dillon is a well established, employee-owned professional consulting firm operating across Canada and internationally. We provide a wide range of consulting and design services related to the infrastructure, real estate, resource, industrial and government sectors in Canada and abroad.
We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Structural Engineer-in-Training in our Calgary office.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A degree in civil engineering
- Eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training in the province of Alberta
- Zero to three years’ relevant structural design experience
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in the structural design of bridges and transportation structures would be an asset
- Knowledge of relevant structural engineering codes and standards
- Familiarity with structural analysis and design software such as STAAD or PCA software, as well as proficiency in current AutoCAD and building systems software is desirable
- Strong interpersonal, communications, organization and time management skills

Responsibilities:
- Assistance to project managers and engineers in the delivery of engineering projects including structural design and environmental assessments, preliminary design, detailed design and construction phase services
- Contribution to the design and construction administration of transportation structures
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams including structural , transportation, and municipal engineers, transportation systems planners, land use planners, environmental scientists and technical support staff
- Assistance with the enhancement of client relationships in the public and private sectors
- Assistance with business development activities, including proposal preparation (initiation and submission), reports and presentations
- Business travel upon request
