QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with structural emphasis is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of design experience is necessary.
  • A Registered Professional Engineer is a plus or the ability to pass the Professional Exam when the eligibility requirements have been satisfied is required.
  • Experience in wood design is preferred.
  • Post-frame construction knowledge is a plus.
  • Familiarity with finite element structural analysis and design software.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD is necessary.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills is required.
  • Previous experience with an ERP system is a plus.
  • Minimal travel is required.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for overall building designs of pre-engineered post-frame buildings ensuring the unique requirements of our customers for residential, farm, livestock, equine, hobby and commercial purposes. The individual works closely with a cohesive team of resources from project sale through the construction phase. This role may have the opportunity for a hybrid or remote work schedule.

  • Create building designs in accordance with industry standards, state and local building and zoning codes.
  • Review and interpret customer specifications and sale agreements.
  • Act as a resource for design and code concerns.
  • Work directly with drafting technicians to produce certified construction drawings and accurate bill of materials.
  • Provides product technical assistance internally and in the field.
  • Performs custom quoting, pricing assistance and training to sales force.
  • Stay current of new developments in the industry.
