With numerous long-term projects secured, DOF is expanding rapidly. We are looking for more colleagues to strengthen the engineering team and contribute to our success.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural analysis and design, with a passion for solving complex engineering challenges. You will be responsible for design and analyze structural systems for various projects, conduct structural calculations, simulations, and modeling using engineering software (AutoCAD). Your creativity and expertise will be essential in develop integrated design solutions. By ensuring timely completion and maintaining exceptional quality in all assigned tasks, your contribution will play a crucial role in the overall success of our projects.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or specialization is preferred.
  • Proven experience in structural engineering, with expertise in designing and analysing, preferably within offshore/subsea sector.
  • Structural steel design for a dynamic marine environment and marine operations
  • Seafastening design, including design and analysis of grillages, winch bases, lay spreads and work platforms to DNV standards
  • Performing analysis of allowable stress of structures to relevant standards
  • Lifting equipment design / checks according to DNV codes
  • Installation aid design and analysis
  • Ship structure knowledge an advantage
  • Understanding of steel fabrication methods and standards, including welding.
  • Ability to perform hand (spreadsheet) calculations as well as use tools such as FEA and beam / column modellers
  • 2D and 3D CAD skills
  • Excellent written reporting skills
  • Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Valut, ANSYS, Space Gas) and engineering calculations (Mathcad).
  • Strong analytical skills and practical mindset.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Packages - Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Project
  • Fluent in English (both written and verbal)
    This position reports to the Engineering Manager in Norway.
