Description:

STRUCTURAL ENGINEER (SURREY) – FULL TIME

Tong Ngo Engineering & Associates Ltd. is a well-established professional engineering consulting firm, and our professional engineers have experiences in structural engineering of wide variety of buildings such as apartment buildings, townhouses, tilt-up buildings, commercial buildings, residential buildings, single family house, and tenant improvements for over 30 years. We are currently growing our team and searching for an ambitious and self-motivated structural engineer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
  • Registered as Professional Engineering in BC (P.Eng.), Engineer in Training (EIT) or candidate to be registered as an EIT.
  • Min. 3 years’ experience in structural engineering.
  • Experienced in structural designs of referenced concrete, steel and wood buildings.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Mathcad, and AutoCAD.
  • Familiar structural design software (SAP 2000, Woodworks, … ).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, time management and organizational skills.
  • Able to work effectively independently or excellent team player.
  • Possess a valid BC driver’s license.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of projects.
  • Preparation of structural consulting drawings and shop drawings for building permit and construction.
  • Review shop drawings for structural requirements.
  • Perform detailed structural design calculations.
  • Field review of structural related construction and prepare technical reports.
  • Provide structural engineering support during construction.
  • Communication and coordination with clients and architects.
