THE OPPORTUNITY

As our pipeline of work grows, we are seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our multidisciplinary water team in Newcastle. Ideally, you will have experience in the design engineering of water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, hydraulic structures, pump stations and conveyance pipelines, with previous tasks including the review of design requirements, site investigations, calculations, modelling, oversight of drafting and the preparation of reports and specifications.
Building strong client relationships and demonstrating your ability to understand our client’s core business you will be able to provide solutions and service to clients both off and on site.

ABOUT YOU

With outstanding communication skills and the ability to influence and drive successful project outcomes for the business and our valuable clients you will have gained experience working in a consulting environment delivering projects as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi office project team.

Your ideal skills and expertise:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil (structural) engineering
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design
  • Knowledge of safety in design, constructability and operational practices and relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes
  • Knowledge of risk management with the ability to identify project and design related risks
  • Experience in managing small to medium engineering design projects
  • A commitment to working safely, and within the company’s HSEQ systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to interact with a broad range of audiences
  • Ability to travel on occasions as the work requires
