Job Description AECOM Technical Services, Inc., Structural Engineering, Orange, CA: Job Details: Develop analytical models for design and analysis of new structures Utilize models to develop member design and loads for connections and foundation elements Utilize advanced analytical modeling in analysis and evaluation of existing structures to identify retrofit requirements and opportunities, and develop BIM models for the production of drawings in construction Prepare and develop calculations beyond the information provided by analytical models, including the preparation of hand calculations, new spreadsheets, or similar methods to design special elements that are not handled sufficiently by typical analysis models Assist in review of shop drawings and preparation of responses to requests for information from contractors and clients during construction, including annotations on sketches, narrative responses, or clarifications Assist with preparation of feasibility studies to develop rough costs and highlight potential challenges for decisions on potential projects and to understand opportunity costs Collaborate with engineers to refine solutions and thereby improve problem solving and teamwork skills Coordinate with other disciplines to develop complete design packages for structures in all common building materials Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week Full-time Qualifications Candidates must have a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field of study and 0 years of experience. Employer will accept experience and skills gained in pursuit of university-level degree via coursework, projects, or internships. Skills may be gained concurrently. The position requires experience in the following: Completion of at least one structural engineering project developing analytical models, hand calculations, comprehensive structural calculations, and construction drawings ETABS SAFE SAP 2000 Revit Risa RAM Bluebeam Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word Developing simple non-linear models Developing simple reports and studies using technical writing methods Utilizing code provisions to develop lateral load conditions, including wind and seismic Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
