JOB DESCRIPTION

AECOM Winnipeg is hiring a Structural Engineering Manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 10+ years of relevant structural engineering experience, including bridge design and construction
  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 15+ years of experience in structural engineering
  • Experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of structural analysis software and design codes
  • Proven ability to lead teams and mentor junior engineers
Responsibilities
  • Leads, oversees, and coordinates structural engineering production activities, with a focus on bridge design and construction, but also covering a range of structural infrastructure projects.
  • Leads and manages a team of professional engineers, engineering technologists, and drafting staff.
  • Provides technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, ensuring high-quality project delivery.
  • Makes authoritative decisions and recommendations on complex engineering challenges.
  • Engages with senior-level management and stakeholders, demonstrating strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
  • Manages multi-disciplinary teams to achieve project goals while maintaining technical excellence.
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking and problem-solving in project planning, execution, and operational objectives.
  • Ensures compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company best practices.
  • Leads proposals and pursuits of new work, including marketing to new and existing clients.
  • Supervision is primarily administrative, with assignments defined by broad objectives and project requirements.
