Green Construct Pty Ltd is a Western Australian-based construction company with the skills and experience required to bring solar passive designs to life. Our team is dedicated to delivering unique, high-quality construction projects on time and within budget. We believe in honesty, integrity, transparency and open communication.
To support our ongoing infrastructure and commercial construction projects, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Construction Estimator to join us. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for a range of residential, commercial and industrial construction projects. The role is critical in assisting Green Construct to secure profitable projects. The successful candidate will analyse project specifications, architectural drawings and other documentation to determine project requirements and develop comprehensive cost breakdowns that ensure both accuracy and competitiveness.
This role requires strong attention to detail, advanced analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of construction materials, labour and methodologies. The Construction Estimator will work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers to develop and manage cost projections and ensure alignment with the project scope and budget.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimating & Budgeting

o Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for new construction and renovation projects, including all associated materials, labour, equipment and subcontractor costs.
o Quantify and price all building materials and components, utilising a range of tools and software.
o Interpret and analyse architectural, structural and engineering drawings, as well as project specifications, to determine project scope and requirements.
o Prepare preliminary and detailed cost plans for various stages of project development, from concept design.

o Analyse and interpret project data, including historical cost information, to inform and validate estimates.

  • Data Management & Reporting

o Maintain and update a comprehensive and accurate database of cost rates, supplier pricing and historical project data to support future estimations.
o Generate and present clear and concise reports on cost breakdowns, variance analysis and project budgets for management and stakeholder review.

o Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes, tools and methodologies.

  • Collaboration and Communication

o Liaise and collaborate with internal teams, including Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and the Management team, to ensure estimates are aligned with project delivery requirements and objectives.
o Communicate with architects, engineers, clients and other external stakeholders to clarify project specifications, resolve discrepancies, and obtain necessary information.
o Participate in meetings to discuss project details, scope clarifications, and final pricing.


Skills and Experience:

  • Essential:

o Proven experience in a similar role as a Construction Estimator, or related field.
o Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
o Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and processes.
o Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft, Cubit) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
o Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

o Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

  • Desirable:

o A qualification in Building and Construction, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
o Experience working on a variety of project types (e.g., residential, commercial, civil).
o Understanding of Australian building codes and regulations

Remuneration:
A competitive salary ($80,000 - $90,000) will be offered based on skills and experience, in line with industry standards and award classifications.
