POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Structural Fitting and Welding Inspector to become part of our team. The successful candidate will ensure that all structural fittings and welding operations comply with relevant industry codes and project specifications. This role focuses on verifying that fabricated components are produced accurately according to approved blueprints and applicable standards. A solid grasp of welding methods, structural soundness, and quality control procedures is essential.
Additionally, the Structural Fitting & Welding Inspector must insure that all welded members meet the acceptance criteria as per the American Welding Society

Key Responsibilities:

  • This position requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints and to inspect welds performed using the Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) technique.
  • Inspect and evaluate structural fittings and welds for compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Conduct visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) as required.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Document inspection results and prepare detailed reports.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address any quality issues.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and best practices in the workplace.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior inspectors and team members.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Blueprint reading
  • Inspect welds performed using the Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) technique
  • Proven experience as a welding inspector or in a similar role.
  • Certification in welding inspection (e.g., AWS CWI, CSWIP).
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes and techniques.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API).
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required Associate degree (two year college or technical school) Preferred, Field of Study: Welding
Experience: 1 plus years of experience in Welding Inspection or Welding Shop Operations. 1 year of working in Flux Core Arc Welding process
