Career Details: Job Title: Structural Plate fitter Number of Openings: 2 Job Type: Full-Time/Temporary Minimum Level of Education: JM Welder Schedule: 5 – 10’s Locations to be Supported: Fort Saskatchewan, AB Application Deadline: Until Filled Position Summary: We are looking for an experienced Structural Plate Fitters for our busy fabrication shop in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, fitting and assembling heavy steel components. Other responsibilities: Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and layout sketches Fit and tack structural steel and plate components to spec Use tools such as torches, grinders, levels, squares, and measuring tapes Layout material, mark reference points, and prep components for welding Ensure proper fit-up tolerances and overall dimensional accuracy Operate overhead cranes and rigging equipment safely Follow all shop safety protocols and PPE requirements Work closely with welders, supervisors, and QC to meet production targets Maintain a clean and organized work area Identify material defects or drawing issues and flag them for resolution Our Ideal Candidate: Journeyperson Metal Fabricator certificate. Pipe Fitters and other trades may be considered with suitable equivalent experience. 5+ years or more experience oil and gas/construction industry experience. Valid CWB, FCAW, SMAW (all positions) considered an asset. Self-starter requiring minimal supervision with the ability to multitask and define properties. Able to understand instructions and communicate effectively. Attention to detail and the ability to meet quality standards.
