Base Rate for this position is $29.00 - $35.24 / hour
This position is eligible for annual bonuses
Annual Return on assests bonus percentage (RAO) (5 Years Average) = 20.7% of eligible earnings
Annual Profit Sharing bonus percentage (5 Year Average) = 20.4% of eligible earnings
Are you a highly detail-oriented drafter/ detailer with a passion for precision and problem-solving? We’re looking for a Structural Steel Detailer / BIM Modeler to join our growing team, where you’ll play a critical role in designing custom metal building systems that are built to last.
In this role, you’ll create detailed 3D models and construction-ready drawings that bring custom structures to life — from shop floor to job site. If you’re skilled in Tekla, AutoCAD, or BIM tools, and want to work in a collaborative, high-performance environment, we want to hear from you.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency with 3D BIM software, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Excel
  • One of the following:


    • Associate degree or two-year vocational certification in drafting, architecture, engineering tech, or construction management

    • OR 4+ years of structural or metal building detailing experience
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (Nucor does not offer visa sponsorship now or in the future)

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Working knowledge of metal building construction practices
    • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate design intent through written, verbal, and visual formats
    • Hands-on experience with BIM workflows and practical application of modeling technology
