We are looking for a Structural Steel Detailer / Estimator at ArkTon Steel. We are a Canadian owned and operated company located in Crossfield, Alberta specializing in pre-engineered and conventional building systems as well as primary & secondary component manufacturing. The Detailer / Estimator’s responsibility includes detailing and estimating for conventional and pre-engineered for commercial and institutional building construction projects located throughout Alberta and Western Canada. Responsibilities include structural detailing, client interface and ensuring client satisfaction; developing detailed means and method estimates; outsourcing, analyzing and competitively purchasing subcontractor services and material purchases; reviewing proposed designs for constructability, value-engineering, assist in contract negotiations; creating, updating and enforcing project schedules; problem solving; coordinating project meetings; keeping project records and documents; managing project cost; managing change orders, acquiring building permits, managing submittals and other necessary project documents and physically inspecting projects to monitor progress and compliance with project standards.
