OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Fitter/Welder to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in welding and fabrication, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics. This role requires mechanical knowledge and proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG and TIG welding. The Welder/Fitter will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and fitting structural steel while maintaining quality and accuracy in accordance with provided drawings, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the production process.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid CWB Welding ticket (or equivalent), with 10+years experience with flux core and metal core
  • 8+ years experience in structural fitting
  • Proven experience in welding and fitting within a manufacturing or construction environment
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate machinery safely
  • Familiarity with various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, plasma cutting, and assembly processes
  • Experience using calipers for precise measurements and basic math skills for calculations
  • Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and operate cranes as necessary
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work

Responsibilities
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications and assembly requirements
  • Accurately assemble metal structures according to project specifications
  • Verifying that material components and finished product meet specifications
  • Performing welding and cutting as needed
  • Cleaning and de-burring components and finished product to achieve reliable weld and required quality finish
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as plasma cutters, press brake machines, and forklifts for fabrication tasks
  • Conduct rigging operations safely to move heavy components as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve manufacturing processes
