Are you looking for an exciting new career opportunity that comes with amazing opportunities for success and growth for your future? Morskate Manufacturing is actively recruiting a motivated Structural Steel Painter to join our dynamic team of professionals.
Reporting to the shop supervisor, you will be responsible for preparing, priming, and coating fabricated steel products using dip and spray methods. The role includes maintaining equipment, ensuring proper product labeling, and upholding our quality and safety standards at all times. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experiencein industrial or structural steel painting
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high energy production shop.
  • Must be familiar with outdoor steel coatings and their applications (Epoxy, Acrylic & Polyurethane).
  • Maintain dip tank levels and pit levels within tank.
  • Take and record paint coating thickness readings.
  • Ability to apply primer and finish coatings using spray equipment according to job specifications.
  • Ensure high-quality finish work with smooth, even coverage and attention to detail — capable of producing coatings that meet both visual and durability standards.
  • Must have good time management skills
  • Knowledge of materials and basic understanding of metals.
  • Knowledge of chemicals and proper steps for mixing and clean up
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs. and be on feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English clearly

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and order equipment/tools/consumables (spray guns, paint pumps, filters, rubber gloves, paint suits, face shields, masking tape, paint, parts for guns and all other associated goods)
  • Storage and preparation of primer products
  • Apply peel coats in paint booth
  • Receive and follow work instructions and material priority status
  • Verify product finish as per color coded tag applied to finished product
  • Application of primer to fabricated steel product using dip and spray methods as required
  • Re-apply labelling on dipped material once dry in preparation for shipping
  • Ensure quality of finish on primed material to meet Morskate requirements
  • Safe operation of overhead crane for dipping of fabricated product

HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Active participation in company safety program
  • Follow safety protocol including wearing of required PPE and understanding and application of safety policies, procedures and practices
