STRUCTURAL SURVEY PROJECT MANAGER / PROJECT ENGINEER

Position
We are looking for talented individuals to add to the team and as such are looking for a
Structural Survey Project Manager / Project Engineer to work alongside our dedicated team of
Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Junior Project Managers, Engineers, Project Engineers,
Investigation Engineers and ACAD/BIM Technicians at our Garston Office in Watford
(Hertfordshire). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to receive specific training in the main roles and responsibilities listed below, in order to fine tune or adapt their experience to the structural investigation services provided by GBG.
Ideally you will have a keen interest in working in the site investigation and/or civil/structural engineering field and hold a full UK driving licence. At least 3 years’ experience in project management and quality control is required, as well as working on historic buildings and/or construction sites, new and/or refurbishment schemes. Experience with non-destructive testing survey equipment and hand and powered tools is preferable. A degree, HND or HNC level qualification in a relevant field is preferable.

The main roles and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Leading and managing structural investigation site surveys, which will include leading teams collecting non destructive testing (NDT) and intrusive data, as well as material samples.
  • Carrying out inspection, survey and measurement of structural elements on-site.
  • Processing of site survey data and samples.
  • Compiling investigation specific technical reports.
  • Compiling investigation specific Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Initial contract reviews.
  • Site visits and compiling investigation specific fee proposals/tender returns.
  • Client liaison and developing Client partnerships.
  • Development into Senior Project Management.
  • Professional Development.

Other Information

  • Starting salary £40,000 to £50,000/year dependent on experience and qualifications
  • £40 site bonus plus £10 subsistence per day on-site.
  • Company and role specific training to be provided by GBG.
  • 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and evening site survey works optional (dependent on Client requirements).
  • The successful candidate will be expected to travel to sites within the UK.
