As we continue to grow our Queenstown office, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer ready to step into a leadership role and help build on our structural capability in the region. About the role You will work within a small, dynamic team in Queenstown, playing a key role in building and leading our structural discipline locally. With an established and growing pipeline of work in the region, you’ll help drive a diverse range of residential and commercial projects, while also being involved in projects nationally; working closely with our wider team of talented professionals to ensure exceptional outcomes for our clients. This is a varied role which will see you: Leading and growing the structural team in Queenstown Developing and maintaining client relationships Preparing concept, preliminary and detailed designs Overseeing project delivery, administration, and management You’ll have the opportunity to shape the team, influence how we deliver our projects locally, and contribute to our “one team, one waka” approach across the business. About you Understand risk, be commercially astute, and place a high regard on client satisfaction Experience in leading or mentoring within the delivery of structural engineering projects A strong desire to step into or further develop in a people leadership role, building and growing a team Demonstrated leadership capability, with a passion for mentoring and fostering professional development Qualified BEng (Hons) or equivalent CPEng preferred or working towards would be an advantage A strong portfolio of successfully delivered projects, with proven experience in structural engineering, including seismic design to NZ Codes In-depth knowledge of New Zealand’s structural engineering standards and building codes Exceptional communication, enabling effective collaboration with clients, colleagues, and project stakeholders About us Kirk Roberts Consulting is a multi-disciplinary consultancy providing Structural, Geotechnical, Fire, Civil, and Environmental Engineering Services, plus Architecture and Engineering Software to a range of clients across New Zealand, from our offices in Christchurch, Queenstown, Auckland, Hamilton, and Tauranga.
