Description

Wells Fargo is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join their Corporate Debt Finance (CDF) team within the Structured Products Group (SPG) located in Charlotte or New York. Corporate Debt Finance provides and facilitates capital to asset managers and other non-bank financial institutions through structured credit facilities and collateralized loan obligations.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist in the marketing, origination, execution and portfolio management of lending facilities and capital markets transactions
  • Work as part of a client coverage team in creating pitch books, marketing materials for securitizations, and handling investor requests
  • Develop rating agency correspondence, term sheets, underwriting memos, as well as examining legal documentation
  • Support senior bankers on the deal team, through active involvement in all aspects of the deal origination and execution process
  • Closely partner with various constituencies across Wells Fargo, including Credit Risk, Sales and Trading, Syndicate, Investment Banking Coverage, Corporate Banking Coverage, DCM, Leveraged Finance, Compliance, and Legal

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Investment Banking experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years prior Investment Banking or Analyst Training Program experience, prior experience in structured products and/or capital markets a plus
  • Prior experience in or related to securitization is a plus
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Dedication to building a career in the financial services industry
  • The ability to operate with urgency and prioritize work accordingly
  • Proven ability to take on significant responsibility with a sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving results
  • Willingness to work long hours in a demanding, highly focused, and collaborative team environment

  • Product knowledge, technical expertise, transaction execution and negotiation skills
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, economics, finance, or related field

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.

This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check.
