PROJECT SCOPE:

The Structures and Subsea and Pipelines teams at Kent has a shared summer placement opportunity, open to mechanical, civil and structural engineering students in their third year and above. As a member of our team in Aberdeen, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting and exciting projects, or value adding internal innovation tasks to improve our team’s capabilities and processes.
The starting date is flexible, but we’re looking for the candidate to be available for at least eight weeks over the summer period. Our office is located in Aberdeen. Whilst we’d prefer the candidate to mostly work from the office, there is the potential for working from home too.

REQUIREMENTS

• Working towards a degree in Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
• A passion for working in a consultancy environment.

YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO PROJECTS ACROSS ALL THREE OF OUR ENGINEERING AND CONSULTANCY SERVICES MARKETS (OIL AND GAS, OFFSHORE WIND, AND LOW CARBON), WITH RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING:

• Integrity management, life extension, and decommissioning studies across offshore structures and pipelines.
• Concept development and feasibility studies for challenging marginal, HPHT, and deep-water subsea developments in the Oil & Gas sector.
• Design and analysis of CO2 and H2 onshore and offshore pipelines in the Low Carbon sector.
• Using analytical or non-linear FE methods to solve diverse and complex structural, subsea pipeline and subsea cable problems.
• Participation in innovation projects to continually streamline our toolkits for delivering our assessments.
• Building and maintaining client relationships and contributing to successful proposals and tenders
