Job Title: Structures Leader Location: Samlesbury - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role Salary: £56,766 + depending on skills and experience What you’ll be doing: Produce written materials including reports, technical information, and documentation using standard and non-standard formats Provide technical input, analysis, and interpretation when addressing problems that may be undefined, unique, or without an established pattern Apply relevant engineering theories, concepts, and developments to evaluate information and identify appropriate solutions Use specialist tools, techniques, software, and equipment relevant to the role (e.g engineering tools, analytical software, or technical rigs) Support activities involving UK customers, UK suppliers, international partners, and internal stakeholders Contribute to improvements in products, techniques, procedures, equipment design, or technology Participate in cross discipline or cross directorate activities, supporting coordination with other teams or business areas Your skills and experiences: Essential Degree level education (or equivalent professional qualification) with significant experience in Structural engineering Experience in managing or leading others and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders Technical knowledge of Structural Engineering, including theories, applications, and Typhoon project knowledge Desirable Knowledge of commercial activities, project/programme management, quality, IT/computing, manufacturing, systems engineering, or test engineering Broad awareness of airframe engineering, design engineering, and aerodynamics Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The Structures team: With an in-depth Structural knowledge of the Typhoon project, you will be working closely with the Airframe Design team in reviewing and approving the various design changes and new developments for the Typhoon project, whilst also helping to nurture and develop the less experienced Structures engineers in the team. Working with both metallic and composite structural design solutions the role involves a breadth of Structural skills and use of various project toolsets. The local Samlesbury based team that you will be working with is part of a larger Structures Department covering all in-service aircraft projects, F-35, Tornado, Hawk, T-45, Typhoon and Lancaster based across five BAE Systems sites in an overall shared service, safely supporting continued aircraft operations world-wide.
