ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering for two Structures Workshop/Laboratory Technicians to develop the design and manufacture of bespoke equipment for use within the Structures Research Laboratories, whilst ensuring that safe and effective working practices are carried out.
The post holders will have a key role in the development of testing rig setups and the modification/re-purposing of existing rigs and equipment. Common activities include machining, cutting, water-jetting, welding, assembling and working with cabling and hydraulics.
The roles are varied and will involve working in both the Workshop to manufacture the equipment and the Laboratory to carry out installation and setup.
The post holders will have access to a wide variety of professional development as well as the opportunity to connect with and learn from others through our extensive Technicians’ Network.
These are full time, permanent posts.
