The University of Southern Maine’s Disability Services Center is seeking a Student Access Coordinator. The targeted start date for this position is July 6, 2026. The Student Access Coordinator [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AjsOOq7ydtT8Qlqq1Evj4YHnoeSiO8Rr/view?usp=sharing] serves as a key member of the Disability Services Center team, advancing equity and access for students with disabilities at the University of Southern Maine and the University of Maine Law School. This position ensures compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 by coordinating and implementing individualized accommodations and supports for students. The Student Access Coordinator will meet with and maintain a caseload of students and respond to student, faculty and staff questions. Key responsibilities include coordinating accommodations such as exam adjustments, notetaking services, assistive technology, alternate format materials, housing and dining accommodations, and emotional support animal requests. The coordinator also works closely with campus departments and community partners, supports students in developing self-advocacy skills, and assists with outreach and university events. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
