Job Description Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity We are seeking someone to join us as a Student Accommodation Night Support (known internally as Night Supervisor) to join our team, working rostered night shifts in our student residences. This vital role ensures our students feel safe, supported, and part of a positive community. You will be the first point of contact for residents needing pastoral care or well-being support during the night. This isn’t a traditional security role, you’ll lead on health, safety, and security, making sure protocols are followed, emergencies are handled, and first aid is provided when needed. When not responding to incidents or patrolling, you’ll be responsible for completing general administrative and coordination tasks. Our Student accommodation team provides housing for over 4,500 students across a variety of accommodation styles, from first-year halls to self-catered apartments for senior students. Hours This is a part-time, permanent position. The hours of work are 11:00pm to 7:00am. You will work an average of 30 – 35 hours per week. Shifts are rostered to alternate on a weekly basis and weekend work will be required. Salary The salary range for this role is $ $55,000 to $69,000, negotiable depending on skills and experience. Training We provide full training, including first aid, mental health event management, and basic security. This paid training will take place during regular business hours before your night shifts begin. While you’ll be working alone during shifts, remote support from the team will be available. This role is ideal for those night shifts to fit their lifestyle, and we’ve found it to be a great fit for people with experience in pastoral care, student-focused roles, mental health services, social work, youth work, residential care or hospitality, or even those considering a career as a police officer.
