Coordinate assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies. Train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel. Provide a student activities program that meets the educational and social needs of students. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following tasks describe the basic functions of the job and represent the type of work performed. They do not constitute an exhaustive list of the duties and responsibilities performed on the job. The following frequencies and percentage of time spent are approximations only and are subject to flexibility dependent on organizational needs. Supervise after-school activities, fundraising, and sponsorship programs including but not limited to: directing, participating in school class and club activities; overseeing registration requirements; providing personnel for events; ensuring events are compliant to District policies; and scheduling arrangements for speakers, performances, and other school guests. [Daily, 25%] Provide for the planning, scheduling, coordinating, supervising, and implementation of recognition programs and graduation activities, including State, school district, and school major events. Purchase, distribute, and manage inventory of equipment and supplies. Assist in arranging for equipment, facilities, and agendas for events. Develop and execute safety plans for all events. [Daily, 15%] Recruit, hire, evaluate, and promote/discipline assigned staff (e.g. coaches, sponsors, volunteers, etc.). As warranted, assess staffing requisite to achieve expected outcomes; accordingly, set individual and departmental goals and related priorities. Plan and provide opportunities for staff development and training. [Daily, 15%] Manage the High School Activities/Athletics Participation Agreement (HSAPA) by handling suspensions, discipline issues, and drug violations with students in programs. Adheres to the District’s and State’s Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) policy and monitor student eligibility according to school and CHSAA guidelines. Serve on CHSAA committees as needed. [Daily, 10%] Provide a comprehensive extra-curricular activities program at an assigned school site. Plan, direct, and review the activities and operations of student activities, clubs, and organizations. Develop and implement program goals and objectives. [Daily, 5%] Collaborate with the districtwide Director of Athletics and Activities and school-based Student Athletics Administrators to promote and present information about a variety of extracurricular programs, including but not limited to handling social media and communication within communities. [Daily, 5%] Draft and maintain a school-wide calendar of activities and fundraising events that is merged with the school master calendar. [Daily, 5%] Develop social, cultural, and educational programs and activities to encourage student and community participation. Assist new clubs with the development process by providing club advisor and officer training and coordinating planning and activities with advisors to student organizations. [Daily, 5%] Create and implement the student activities budget. Monitor and approve expenditures for student activities. Prepare a variety of reports, including program activity reports and financial reports for school events. [Weekly, 5%] Oversee domestic or international school fieldtrips and monitor safety requirements for student attendance. [Monthly, 5%] Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
