About the Position: Warren Easton Charter High School is seeking a qualified Student Activity Business Manager to report directly to the Finance Director. As we continue to grow there will be opportunities in the future to advance your career with us. Direct Supervisor: This person will report to the Finance Director. Supervisory Opportunities: This role will not supervise any staff. General Ledger Manages SAF records to ensure laws are adhered to while working with coaches and sponsors to maintain their account balances and students’ accounts; Daily cash posting for SAF, General funds and Foundation accounts; Support timely monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, and overall maintenance of all SAF accounts; Reports any unusual financial activity to Chief Financial Officer; and Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. Purchase Management Records SAF financial activity and ensures vendor payments are posted to the correct account and budget line item; Ensures timely payment of SAF invoices; Works closely with the Finance Director to recognize when an activity manager is approaching or has exceeded their budget; Generate purchase orders Reviews accounts payable for completeness and correctness monthly; and Scan and maintain purchase orders and check files. Requirements Associate's degree in accounting or finance/ business concentration required, bachelor's degree preferred Experience in the education and/or non-profit field a plus, but not required
Responsibilities
The Student Activity Business Manager will manage Student Activity Fund (SAF) records, ensuring legal adherence while assisting sponsors with account balances, and will handle daily cash posting for SAF, General, and Foundation accounts. This role also involves managing purchase activities, ensuring timely vendor payments, generating purchase orders, and supporting monthly and year-end financial closing processes.
